I bought this thermometer to go with my new smoker. For me it is a must have that lets me monitor everything from meat temperature to the internal temperature of the smoker. I find the thermometer on the smoker itself to not be the most reliable because of its fixed location but this I can move around to place near the meat for best accuracy. It has the ability to monitor up to 5 probes, in addition to the ambient probe. The kit comes with 3 probes which is enough for my current needs. Super simple to use with the togrill app. It took me a few minutes to set up and be ready to use. I like the built in presets so I’m not always having to check every time what internal temperature I need to reach for each meat. I can also program my own and tweak those presets as well. I am able to set up alarms for when temperatures of the meat or ambient temperature are out of range. For me, that is the most valuable tool of all. If the smoker temperature gets too low, my phone will give me an alert so I can add fuel. The monitor screen automatically dims so it consumes very little power to operate. It has more than enough battery to get through cooking a big brisket. The battery is rechargeable which I appreciate and do after every use. Everything stores in a nice case to keep it all together and organized.
